Experienced Licensed Real Estate Broker

Dan Dutcher is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Iowa and holds the LEED AP designation with over 40 years of experience. Mr. Dutcher is the founder of 3D Consulting LLC, which provides real estate consulting services to various clients including Apple of Project Morgan in Waukee. Mr Dutcher earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1977.

Other Positions Held:

  • Community and Economic Development Director at City of Waukee. Grew commercial valuation from $3,000,000 to $65,000,000 in 6 years.
  • Former consultant for Knapp Properties
  • Senior VP at Terrus Real Estate Group. He worked on developing third party management business and managed the brokerage operation.
  • VP of Land Development at Hubbell Realty where he grew residential land portfolio.
  • Director of development at R & R Realty Group. Responsible for development city approvals, marketing and leasing of various plazas and office parks.
  • Bankers Life Company (now Principal Financial Group)

I have known the Wittern Family for quite some time and have always found them to be smart and extremely hard-working. The Family is actively involved with their real estate holdings in and around the Des Moines area. The one project that comes to mind was the development of the Jordan Creek Town Center by General Growth since the Wittern Family owned the site selected by General Growth. This project was very complicated with varying interest being represented by the City of West Des Moines, General Growth and Wittern Family. During the course of the project, the Family was shown be creative and flexible working toward reasonable compromises to create win/win scenarios for all the stakeholders. There were a series of hurdles to development of this project including from Federal agencies (financing and environment), State agencies (IDNR, IEDA, IDOT) that the Family was able to overcome. In all the projects I have worked on with the Wittern Family over the years, I have always found them to be honest, straightforward in their positions, as well as results-oriented but also flexible and creative to find solutions that worked for all involved.

The Wittern Family holds many acres of real estate in the Des Moines area. The Family are active outdoors — hunting, fishing, farming, etc. and always looking to enhance the community. The General Growth project, creating Jordan Creek Town Center as a destination for Iowa and beyond, was grind/ during development, but the Family’s strong conviction that the project was best for Iowa was relentless and we have a beautiful center because of their determination.
